The scheme is framed around the notion of turning the mall inside-out. Instead, a more vibrant outdoor urban village concept is sought, where a variety of programmatic uses and buildings contribute to a synergystic whole. People can circulate and enjoy the unique streets, promenades, canals, plazas, and open green space while experiencing the various activities of the development (eating, entertainment, work, leisure, etc). Furthermore, we are resisting the commercial tendency of artifi cially, kitsch style and escapism that so dominates the current commercial experience and are rather providing an experiential quality of natural light, nature, regionalism and authenticity.
